Te Pūtea Whakatupu Trust continues to focus on areas aimed at addressing two priorities:
- Higher levels of educational achievement amongst Māori, and
- Higher levels of workforce participation by Māori in key sectors of the economy.
In order to address these priorities, the key work projects listed right, are underway.
The trust continues to implement new, innovative and niche programmes, including research, pilots and trials that are unlikely to achieve funding from other sources. At the same time, we seek partners and other sources funding to maximise these outcomes.
The Trust will fund projects that:
- Accelerate the development of practical solutions to boost Māori involvement in key industries at middle and senior management levels;
- Are innovative, sustainable and transferable;
- Leverage off existing programmes and other sources of funding;
- Are of a suitable scale, with the potential for high-impact results both socially and economically; and
- Build connections between communities, iwi, industry stakeholders and other relevant organisations.
